Requirements / Age Limit:

Drivers aged 21 and above with a clean driving history (free from major moving violations, DUI convictions, or similar offenses) are eligible to rent our vehicles. Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate drivers under the age of 21.

To initiate the rental process, renters must be present in person. We do not permit third parties to collect vehicles on behalf of renters, and our staff must personally hand over the keys to the designated driver.

 

Insurance:

All renters must possess insurance to safeguard against vehicle damages in case of an accident, and several options are available:

1. **Personal Insurance:** The simplest option is to have an insurance policy for a personally owned or leased vehicle. We will verify its validity with your insurer.

2. **New York Customers:** Required to maintain liability insurance only.

3. **Customers from Other States:** Required to maintain full-coverage insurance, including liability, comprehensive, and collision.

Regardless of your personal vehicle, as long as you have active and valid insurance, your coverage extends to damages to our rental cars. Think of it as if you caused an accident involving a Ferrari while driving a VW—your insurance will still cover the damages.

4. **American Express Cardholders:** If you have an American Express card, consider their 'Premium Car Rental Protection' program. It can be purchased in addition to your regular insurance policy, offering an extra layer of protection specifically for your rental vehicle.

5. **Third-Party Options:** If none of the above options apply, there are third-party companies offering damage waiver products. Feel free to inquire for more details on these alternatives.

 

International Renters

International visitors with a valid passport and driver's license from their home country are eligible to rent vehicles. Insurance coverage can be arranged for international visitors renting for a minimum of two days. It's important to be aware that international renters without their own insurance coverage will be required to provide a higher security deposit, ranging from $5,000 to $15,000, depending on the chosen vehicle.

 

MVR

We reserve the right to run an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) report on all renters prior to the start of the rental in order to verify a valid Driver's License.

 

Additional Drivers

You have the option to include additional drivers on your Rental Agreement at no extra cost. Each additional driver must be present during delivery, submit their driver's license in advance, and adhere to the same age, licensing, and driving-record requirements as the primary renter.

 

Delivery / Pick-up

You can opt to collect or return your vehicle either at our office or have it delivered to your specified location, such as your home, office, hotel, airport, or another designated place. We offer complimentary storage for your vehicle at our locations. Door-to-door delivery is available for a small extra fee, determined by the distance traveled.

Please be aware that all arrangements for pick-up and delivery must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance to ensure punctual service. Changes to pick-up or delivery times/locations with less than 24 hours' notice may result in an additional transportation fee.

Simply put, while we strive to accommodate your preferences, changes made after scheduling may incur charges to cover our logistical efforts.

 

Return Times

We offer flexibility regarding the return times for our vehicles, meaning we understand that a 2-day rental may not need to be precisely 48 hours. However, once a return appointment is scheduled, adherence to the agreed-upon time is crucial. A one-hour grace period is provided beyond your scheduled return time, but exceeding this may result in additional daily rental fees.

Our dedicated delivery team operates diligently seven days a week, putting in long hours. Prolonged waits due to missed return appointments, ranging from 2 to 4+ hours, can disrupt the entire schedule. Your cooperation ensures the smooth functioning of our services.

 

Damage Deposit

All renters must leave a damage deposit in the form of a credit card authorization, cashier's check, or cash. Any damage found on the vehicle upon return will be billed against this deposit. The amount of this deposit will vary depending on the vehicle being rented and your type of insurance, but typically varies between $500 - $1500.

This deposit is fully refundable following the completion of the rental. If you are using an American Express card for the deposit, it is run as an "authorization only" (no actual charge). If you are using a Visa, Mastercard or Discover card, this deposit is run as a charge which is then reversed following the completion of the rental.

 

Weather Policy

Regrettably, we have no control over the weather (despite our attempts, the Vulcan Weather Satellite doesn't quite function as it used to). Consequently, in line with the aforementioned cancellation policy, we are unable to provide refunds or rescheduling if the elements don't cooperate.

However, in the event of hazardous weather conditions on a specific day (such as snow, ice, hurricanes, tornadoes, alien attacks, etc.), and you opt not to use your vehicle on that day, we may, at our discretion, consider offering an extension on your rental or credit for a future rental.

For instance, if you rent a car from Friday to Sunday, and it snows on Sunday, resulting in the car staying safely parked in your garage, you might be eligible to extend your rental through Monday at no additional cost. Cancellation Policy

Upon making a reservation, your credit card will be charged immediately for the entire rental cost. Due to a limited vehicle supply and a tightly packed schedule, we provide a 24-hour grace period after reservation for changes or cancellations (unless the rental is within 7 days), after which a cancellation fee of 50% of the total rental cost or $500 (whichever is greater) will apply.

Cancellations or rescheduling within 7 days of your rental date (or a no-show at the time of rental) will incur a cancellation fee of 100% of the total rental cost. 

Please be aware that no exceptions can be made to this cancellation policy. While we empathize with unexpected situations, various last-minute reasons, such as family deaths, serious illnesses, ailing pets, mother-in-law ailments, rabid dogs, and apocalyptic scenarios, have been shared with us. (Remarkably, one individual's father has reportedly passed away three times in the past year—quite the unfortunate streak.)

 

Payment Methods

VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover are the preferred method of payment for rental fees and damage deposits. In certain cases, cashier's checks or cash may be accepted if pre-arranged. Personal & business checks are not accepted because of the absolutely massive and absurd amount of fraud that seems to come with them.

 

Fuel, Toll & MVR Surcharge

Vehicles are delivered to you with a full tank of gas and need to be returned Full.

However, when you do gas up, premium vehicles must be refueled with Premium grade (91+ octane) gasoline. There is a $350 fee for filling up with a lesser grade. And yes, we'll know.

There is a $85 fee per rental (regardless of duration) to cover the costs of fuel, tolls, and the procurement of an MVR report (to verify your spotless, perfect driving record.)

 

Refunds

Refunds are not provided for vehicle rentals or gift certificates. Nonetheless, our commitment to ensuring complete renter satisfaction means that, in specific circumstances, we may extend credit for additional rental days, such as in cases of adverse weather conditions (as mentioned above). This is contingent upon our discretion.

In the event of an unexpected mechanical failure occurring during or before a rental, we will diligently work to either repair or replace your vehicle with a comparable or superior model, incurring no additional charges on your part.

 

Prohibited Uses

Our exceptional rental vehicles are not permitted for use:

1. By individuals lacking a valid driver's license or those whose license has been suspended or restricted.
2. For any unlawful purpose or involvement in illegal activities.
3. To transport individuals or property for compensation.
4. To tow or push any object.
5. To exceed posted speed limits.
6. In speed tests, contests, races, rallies, endurance contests, demonstrations, or on or near racetracks or road courses. This is a strict policy, as no insurance coverage applies while on the track, exposing both parties to significant financial liability.
7. For instructing others in driving.
8. On unpaved surfaces.

In the event of a violation of these Prohibited Uses, we retain the right to terminate your rental agreement and reclaim the vehicle.

 

Tickets

The individual renting the vehicle bears responsibility for any parking, traffic, speeding, or other tickets or violations issued during the rental period. They are required to cover all associated fees, penalties, towing charges, or impound costs.

 

Mileage

Vehicles driven more than double the allotted rental mileage will be subject to an additional surcharge to cover excess wear-and-tear.
